“Life isn’t fair,” my father said. When he gave me that advice, my father was younger than I am right now. It was good advice. Over the years, that advice has saved me a lot of effort. I don’t waste time or energy railing at the universe and yelling, “It’s not fair!”

I get right down to the basics. I find solutions. Many times, it has been very difficult and I’ve had to reinvent myself. The advice I will give my children is, “Life isn’t fair, but you can find joy if you look.”
